A Rewarding and Faith Enriching Experience… As Told by your Fellow Parents who served this year asCATECHISTS
I became a catechist to serve God but God was really serving me and helping me to grow in my Faith. It truly is a beautiful experience and I can’t wait to sign up again
I find sharing about Jesus with the children to be extremely intrinsically rewarding. I enjoy the opportunity to explain that Jesus wants to be our friend. He understands that we are human and make mistakes but he loves us all the same and is very quick to forgive us.
It was a really rewarding experience being able to "live our Faith" by discussing our religion in our Zoom meetings
Sharing the reviews makes me think about my faith more. Sometimes I even research the facts in the lessons more on my own online.
Serving as a Catechist provides me the opportunity to build and encourage the kids to be their best and how to rise higher. I let them know they have incredible destinies to fulfill, that they are winners! I let them know that keeping a positive attitude, focusing on gratitude and modeling excellence every day makes Jesus very happy and is how we can all serve as Disciples and role models of our Christian faith and community. The children are always very receptive to the encouragement and message
In each class I spend with the students, I believe my own faith is enriched. Seeing the class learning our prayers better each week has heightened their meaning for me.
Hearing the kid’s thoughts on how they can live Jesus’ message of love and kindness is an inspiration and helps keep me centered on His message.
I enjoy young people, as they make me feel hopeful and excited about the future of our faith through their eyes and their understanding.
Faith formation connects our young people to the parish more. I encourage them to volunteer in our parish and their school and community activities. Your volunteer time is important to our program, parish and the students. You will enjoy it!
I've loved being a Catechist for my daughter's class. I've gotten to know her friends and they still remember some of the crafts and activities we did as a class including Adam and Eve and the forbidden fruit tree, Jesus turning water into wine, Christmas Pictionary, and Jesus ascending into heaven. It's been a beautiful journey and I look forward to watching these young people make their Confirmation next year!
WE NEED YOUR HELP!PLEASE CONSIDER BECOMING A CATECHIST!
o There will beSIX Unit Reviews IN TOTALfor the year and we need your
involvement to facilitate a group for each review! o All of the reviews for each unit for each grade will be provided to you, so there is
no prep time other than "reviewing" the review to become familiar with what will
be covered. o Parent Catechists will receive a $25 discount toward registration
Thank you again for the opportunity to support you as you pass on the faith to your children, it is truly a privilege, and we look forward to another successful year together!
Peace, Trish

great shall be the peace or your children" (Isaiah 54:13)
